FIRST^® Mentors play a crucial role in the success of a team, acting as the essential ingredient through the children they guide. Their contribution to the achievements of FIRST programs and ultimately to the overall success of FIRST is beyond measure. The amount of time, responsibility, and expertise mentors or coaches bring may vary, but what remains constant is their valuable contribution to the team’s learning, growth, and triumph. FIRST establishes impactful mentorship connections between young individuals and adult mentors and coaches. These mentors come from diverse backgrounds and fields, utilizing their knowledge and expertise to guide students throughout the season. They have the flexibility to dedicate as little or as much time as they can offer to a team.

Can be a person of any age, teaching others what they know
Brings either technical or non-technical expertise to the team
Provides the opportunity for students to learn directly through experiences

FIRST^® is a community that prepares young people for the future through a suite of team-based PreK-12 robotics programs that can be facilitated in school or as a structured after-school program. Powered by a mission-driven global robotics community, evidence-based programs designed to ignite curiosity and encourage exploration, and a signature set of FIRST Core Values, FIRST students are prepared for greater success in the classroom and workforce. Whether it is finding their people or finding their path, students gain the skills and confidence to forge ahead and build their future with FIRST.

Whether you can spare a few hours or a whole day, there's a volunteer position tailored to match your individual talents and interests. Our event volunteers engage in diverse roles, ranging from judging to crowd control, encompassing both technical and non-technical responsibilities. We embrace all talents, ideas, skills, and enthusiasm, and no prior experience is necessary.
