Nexus is Coming... for FIRST® Tech Challenge!

Those who have been on a FIRST® Robotics Competition team in recent years may have experience with Nexus - a community-developed tool for queueing at events (among other features).

This year, the tool is coming to FIRST® Tech Challenge, and FIRST® in Alabama is excited to announce that we will be piloting its use at:

  • Qualifier #1
  • Qualifier #2

If our pilot goes well, we will be looking to expand its use to the remaining qualifiers, as well as the Alabama State Championship event.

Nexus allows teams to register for queueing notifications via SMS, Discord, or Slack and offers notifications to queue approximately 15 minutes prior to match start time (with a final warning around seven minutes prior). It also offers the ability to view announcements and the event pit display.

To learn more about Nexus (especially if you are planning to participate in either Qualifier #1 or Qualifier #2), refer to the Nexus Team Guide. If you are attending either of those events, you will have the opportunity to sign up for Nexus during check-in at the event.
